Tournaments and your game schedule

What it is

Tournaments are shared. Everyone who plays in the same event picks the same listing, so your team, other players and college coaches all find each other in one place. You add the games you play to your schedule, and if your page is public, college coaches can find you at the event.

How to use it

  1. In the mobile app, open Profile, then Tournaments, and tap Add a tournament game. A parent does this for a child from the child's page in the app.
  2. Search for the tournament by name or city. Each result shows the dates and place, and how many teams or players already added it. Pick the one that is listed.
  3. Choose the day, an optional time, and where to find you (field and pool). Save it.
  4. If the tournament is not listed, tap Don't see it? Add a new tournament. Enter the name, dates, city and state, and the app checks for close matches before it adds yours.
  5. On the web, you can add a tournament that is not listed at the Add a tournament page. Once it is added, you can pick it in the app.
  6. For practices, camps, lessons and other events that are not tournaments, use Add to my calendar on the Today page. You can mark a practice or game attended there, and you can repeat an event weekly.

Rules and limits

  • Adding a tournament needs a name of at least 3 letters and a start date within the last month or the next two years. A tournament can run up to 14 days. State is the two-letter code.
  • If a listed tournament has nearly the same name and dates, you are shown it first ("Did you mean one of these?") and can still add yours if it really is different.
  • You can add up to 20 tournaments a day.
  • A tournament game is tied to your team automatically if you are on exactly one team.
  • A game is public by default, which means it can show on your public page. Your page itself has to be public for college coaches to see anything.
  • Verified college coaches see the tournament, your team and the date. The exact field, pool and time show only if you allow it. Adults 18 and over show it unless they switch it off. Players under 18 do not show it unless a parent or the player turns it on, using the switch on the Tournaments screen.
  • A parent can add and remove games and change that switch for a linked child.
  • Marking a practice, game or tournament attended counts as a day trained and adds to your streak. An event typed as Other does not.
  • College coaches can search tournaments by name, city, state or a nearby city or metro area, for example "Houston" also finds Katy and Sugar Land.

Edge cases

  • Taking back "attended" does not take back the check-in it made.
  • A game drops off your Tournaments list a week after the tournament ends.
  • A long tournament lets you pick any day of it, up to 14 days.
  • If you are on more than one team, a tournament game is not tied to a team.
  • Field and pool are tidied up so "Field 9", "fld 9" and "9" are the same field.
