Public athlete profile

What it is

A page you control at nextathletix.com/a/your-username that you can send to coaches, family and recruiters: your photo or cover, headline, bio, teams, stats, measurables, accomplishments, videos, photos and upcoming schedule. It is off until you turn it on.

How to use it

  1. Open your profile editor (web: Profile, Edit; mobile: Profile, Your shareable page).
  2. Claim a username. It becomes your link. Use 3 to 30 letters, numbers, dashes or underscores.
  3. Fill in what you want to show, and preview the page while it is still private.
  4. Turn the page Public. Anyone with the link can now view it.
  5. Share it. On the web you can copy the link, show a QR code to scan (good for flyers and tournaments), and print the page: the print version switches to black on white and removes the buttons, so it works as a one-sheet for coaches. The editor also shows how many people viewed the page in the last 30 days.
  6. Optional on the web: turn on "Let search engines list this page" so Google can show it to people searching your name. This is off by default and only appears once the page is public.

Rules and limits

  • Private by default. A private page returns "not found" to everyone but you (you can still preview it).
  • Sharing a link and being findable on Google are two separate choices. A public page is always marked as not for search engines unless you opt in.
  • Public pages are also what verified college coaches can find in the scout search, so going public makes you findable to them as well.
  • If the athlete is under 18 they cannot publish their own page. They send a request to a linked parent, and the parent approves (in the app or from an emailed link) or publishes it directly. A parent can take the page back down at any time.
  • Edits show up on the live page right away.

Edge cases

  • Changing your username changes your link; the old link stops working.
  • Only upcoming events you marked public show on the schedule; past events drop off by themselves.
  • Showing the exact field and time of tournament games to college coaches is a separate setting. By default adults show it and minors do not.
  • The mobile app has the public/private switch, link and preview, but no QR code or search-engine setting; those are web only.
