Search in the mobile app

What it is

The Search tab finds things of yours in one place: your saved schools, any college in the directory, your training plans, your workouts, work your coach assigned, your accomplishments and your coach conversations. It is not a search for other players, and it does not search the web.

How to use it

1. Open the Search tab and start typing. Results appear after a short pause, grouped by type, with a count for each group.
2. Type more than one word to narrow things down. Every word you type has to match something in the result.
3. Tap a result to open it: a school opens its page, a plan or workout opens the training screen, an assignment opens the workout from your coach, an accomplishment opens your accomplishments, and a conversation opens the chat.
4. Before you type, your last searches are listed. Tap one to run it again, or tap Clear to forget them.
5. Tap the X in the box to start over.

Rules and limits

• The groups, in order, are: Saved schools, All colleges, Training plans, Workouts, Coach assignments, Accomplishments and Conversations.
• Saved schools match on the school name, city, state, your status and tag for it, and your notes.
• All colleges searches the whole directory once you have typed at least two letters, and shows up to 8 schools that you have not already saved. The directory is part of the Training + Recruiting plan. On a free plan that group stays empty, and so does Saved schools.
• Training plans match on title and goal. Workouts include today's workout, the ones ready for next time, and completed days from your 6 most recent plans.
• Coach assignments match on the title, coach and team. Conversations match on the coach name, team and the last message.
• Accomplishments match on title, description and date.
• Your recent searches are kept on your phone only: the last 8, and a search shorter than 2 letters is not kept.

Edge cases

• Search looks at what is loaded on your phone and fetched when you open the tab. A school you saved or a plan you made a moment ago on the website appears after you leave the tab and come back.
• If one list cannot load, for example because you are offline, it just adds no results. The rest still work.
• Only your coach conversations are searched. Messages with your parents and with college coaches are not.
• Searching is not case sensitive.
