Assigning workouts

What it is

Send a workout to one athlete, or to a whole group you have filtered down to, and see who has done it. The athlete finds it with the rest of their day and ticks it off; it counts as a day trained.

How to use it

  1. Pick the athlete (open them), or on the web filter your roster and select a group (for example every catcher), then choose Assign workout.
  2. Choose how to build it:
    • Let AI draft it. Pick a focus area and add a note; the AI builds a session from your drill library, then you review and edit it.
    • Build it yourself, drill by drill.
  3. Add a title, focus, an optional coach note and an optional due date.
  4. Optionally make it repeat: choose the weekdays, how often (every week, every other week, every 3 or 4 weeks) and an end date.
  5. Send. Each athlete gets a push notification (if they have the app and notifications on) and the workout appears in their Today list.
  6. Follow progress in the assignment progress view: each send is one row showing how many of the group are done, who is outstanding, and whether it is overdue. You can withdraw an assignment you sent.

Rules and limits

  • You can only assign to athletes on your roster. If any athlete in the list is not on your roster, nothing is sent.
  • Up to 100 athletes per send. Each athlete gets their own copy, so withdrawing one person's copy does not touch the others.
  • A one-off workout is done or not done. A repeating one counts completions per period (for example 3 times this week) and starts over next period.
  • Only the coach who sent a workout can withdraw it.
  • Athletes see who assigned it. Assigning a workout is also recorded in the athlete's activity history.
  • The mobile app assigns to one athlete at a time. Group assignment from a filtered roster is on the web.

Edge cases

  • If you choose weekdays, the number of times a week is set by how many you chose.
  • A series that starts partway through a week only owes the days still ahead that week.
  • Un-ticking a completed workout (the athlete reopening it) does not remove the day they were checked in for.
  • Title needs 2 to 120 characters, focus 2 to 80, coach note up to 1000.
  • Lessons are assigned separately from workouts, with their own assign button.
