Team tournaments
What it is
Put your team into a tournament in one step. You pick the tournament, tick the players who are going, and it lands on each of those players' schedules. If a player's page is public, college coaches searching tournaments can find that player there.
How to use it
- In the mobile app, open Team and tap Tournaments.
- You see the tournaments your team has already entered, with the dates, the place and how many players are listed. Pull down to refresh.
- Tap Add a tournament for the team. Search for the tournament by name or city and pick it.
- If it is not listed, tap Don't see it? Add a new tournament. Enter the name, the first day, the last day if it is more than one, the city and the state. The app shows close matches first. Pick a listed one if it is the same event, or choose to add yours as a new tournament.
- Under Who's playing, everyone is ticked. Untick anyone who is out. A line under each name shows the jersey number, positions, and Page is private when that player's page is not public.
- Tap Add, which shows the number of players. The tournament appears in your list.
Rules and limits
- You must be on the team's staff. You can add only players you can reach on that roster.
- The tournament goes on each chosen player's schedule for the whole span of the event. A player who already has it is skipped. If everyone already had it, you are told so.
- Up to 60 players can be added in one go.
- The tournament and your team show to verified college coaches only if the player's page is public. The player or a parent still decides whether the exact field and time show. For players under 18 that is off unless a parent or the player turns it on.
- Adding a new tournament needs a name of at least 3 letters and a start date within the last month or the next two years. A tournament can run up to 14 days. You can add up to 20 new tournaments a day.
- The mobile app has no way to take a team off a tournament. A player can remove their own game from Profile, then Tournaments, and a parent can remove it for a child.
- You need at least one player on your roster, and a team. With no team, the screen asks you to create one first.
Edge cases
- The screen works on one team at a time. It uses the team you last chose for your lineup on the Team screen. If you coach more than one team, switch the team there first.
- A player whose account has no athlete profile yet is left out quietly, and the count of players added can be lower than you ticked.
- The count in your list is the number of players who have that tournament for your team, not the number of teams that entered it.
- If a roster is bigger than 60, ticking everyone fails with a message. Add them in two rounds.
