Teams, assistant coaches and team plan

What it is

A team lets several coaches share one roster. You create the team, add assistant coaches and players, and every coach on the staff can see and train the whole roster. Each coach has a role on each team they belong to.

How to use it

1. Open Teams and choose New team. Give it a name and create it. You become the owner.
2. In the team card, use Invite to make a link for a player or, if you are the owner or a head coach, a coach. For a coach you also pick what they work on (hitting, pitching, strength and so on). Add an email if you want the link tied to one person. Copy the link and send it. Inviting players by QR code or email list is covered in the invites card.
3. To change a coach, use the menus on their row: set them as head coach or assistant coach, and change what they coach.
4. To take a coach off the staff, use the remove button on their row and confirm. To take a player off the roster, use the remove button on their row.
5. To hand the team to another coach, use the hand over button on that coach's row (owner only) and confirm. You stay on as head coach.
6. Team plan shows how many athletes on your roster would need a plan and what a team would cost.

Rules and limits

• Roles: the owner, head coaches and assistant coaches. The owner and head coaches can invite and manage coaches. Any coach on the staff can add or remove players.
• A head coach can change or remove assistants only. Only the owner can manage another head coach.
• The owner can never be removed or demoted. To step away, hand the team to another coach on the staff first. You can only hand a team to someone already on the staff.
• Only the owner can hand a team over.
• Owner and head coaches can set the team colors and logo shown to athletes.
• You can be on several teams with a different role on each.
• A team you create from the Teams page takes its sport and school from your coach profile.
• Team plan: the quote counts each athlete once, and skips anyone whose family already pays on their own account. It is $20 per athlete a month, with 20 percent off the yearly price at 8 or more athletes. Paying for a whole team is not available yet; athletes subscribe on their own accounts for now.

Edge cases

• Removing a coach removes their access to the roster through the team. If they also work with some of those athletes directly, a checkbox lets you cut that direct access too. Leave it unticked and they keep seeing those athletes.
• Workouts and lessons a coach already assigned stay in place after they leave. Athletes keep their history.
• Removing a player takes them off the roster only. They keep their sessions, streaks, lessons and workouts, and can be on two rosters while changing clubs. The same checkbox applies to coaches who also work with that player directly.
• A coach who owns a team cannot delete their account until they hand it over.
• The mobile app shows Team Plan only. Creating teams and managing staff is on the web.
