Signing in and your account
What it is
How you create an account, sign in, get back in if you forget your password, change your photo and, if you ever want to, delete your account. There are different account types (athlete, parent, coach, and children added by a parent), and they sign in slightly differently.
How to use it
Create an account
- Go to Sign up and pick who you are: athlete, parent or coach. College coaches use their own sign-up page.
- Enter your name, email and a password. Athletes also enter their age. Accept the Terms and Privacy Policy.
- Or choose Continue with Google or Continue with Apple, if those buttons are shown. The type you picked on the form carries through.
- Parents then add their athlete. Players under 13 cannot have their own account, so a parent signs up first and adds them.
- On the web, enter your email or username and your password. Adults use their email. A child added by a parent signs in with the username the parent chose.
- In the mobile app, choose Sign in with Apple, or Sign in with email, which opens the same sign-in page inside the app.
- Google and Apple buttons only appear when they are available.
Forgot your password
- Choose Forgot password on the sign-in page and enter your email.
- Open the email and follow the link within one hour.
- Pick a new password with at least 8 characters, including a letter and a number. The link works once.
Your account page
- Open Account in the web app. It shows your plan (if you manage billing), your email, a Sign out button and Delete account.
- Parents also see the weekly progress email switch and the setting for how coaches joining a team are handled.
Your profile photo
- Athletes add or change a photo from their profile (web: Edit profile; mobile: Profile, then Details). Parents can set a photo for their child from the child's page.
- Photos can be JPEG, PNG, WebP or GIF, up to 5 MB. You can remove it at any time.
Delete your account
- On the Account page (web) or the Profile screen (mobile), choose Delete account.
- Type DELETE to confirm. Deleting is permanent.
Rules and limits
- You must be 13 or older to create your own account. Younger athletes need a parent to create theirs.
- A child account has no email, so the "Forgot password" email does not apply to it.
- Accounts that only use Google or Apple have no password, so no reset email is sent.
- A child cannot delete their own account. A parent does it from the child's page.
- A parent cannot delete their own account while athletes are still linked. Delete each child's account first.
- Admin accounts cannot be deleted this way.
- If you pay for a subscription, deleting your account cancels it first. If cancelling fails, nothing is deleted and you can try again.
- Deleting removes your profile, plans, check-ins and uploaded photos and videos. Any team you own is deleted too, and its players keep their own accounts.
- Mobile sign-in stays active for about 90 days.
Edge cases
- If an account already uses an email, signing up again with it is refused. Sign in or reset the password instead.
- The reset email says the same thing whether or not an account exists, so you will not be told if you mistyped the email. Check your spam folder, then try again.
- If a reset link is expired or already used, request a new one from the sign-in page.
- If your Google or Apple email matches an existing account, a sign-in error can send you back to the sign-in page with a message.
- The old Settings page now redirects to your profile, or to Account for billing.
