Connect your AI (Claude or ChatGPT)

What it is

You can connect Claude or ChatGPT to your own Next Athletix account and ask questions in plain words instead of opening the app. An athlete can ask "what should I work on today?" A parent can ask "how is my daughter doing this week?" A coach can ask about the roster or have a lesson written and sent. You stay in control and can disconnect at any time.

How to use it

  1. Open Connect your AI in the left menu. Coaches find it under their account settings.
  2. Copy the connection link shown at the top of the page.
  3. In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, then Add custom connector, paste the link and sign in.
  4. In ChatGPT, go to Settings, then Apps & Connectors, create a connector, paste the link and sign in. ChatGPT keeps custom connectors behind its own developer-mode switch, which is OpenAI's setting.
  5. Sign in to Next Athletix when asked and choose Allow on the approval screen. There is no password or key to copy.
  6. Ask your question in the AI app.

Disconnect

  1. Open Connect your AI again.
  2. Under Connected apps, choose Disconnect next to the app and confirm. It stops working straight away.

Rules and limits

  • Athletes (adult) can ask about today's training, the week ahead, upcoming games and events, and their training plans. If you allow changes, the AI can also tick off a plan day for you, which counts toward your streak exactly like doing it in the app.
  • Parents can see their linked athletes' streak, recent sessions, today's workout and upcoming games and events. Parent access is read-only: the AI can look but cannot change anything.
  • Coaches can list their teams, check on the team, open one athlete's detail, browse lessons, and (if you allow changes) create a lesson as a draft and assign a published lesson to athletes on their roster.
  • Children's accounts cannot connect an AI. A child who tries is told to ask a parent. A parent sees the same training through their own connection.
  • Each person sees only their own data. A coach reaches only athletes on their roster; a parent only their own children.
  • The approval screen shows what the app wants. By default a connection is read-only. Your Connected apps list says "Read-only" or "Can read and make changes" for each app.
  • Other account types, such as scouts, cannot connect an AI yet.

Edge cases

  • If you change account type, the AI sees the new tools on its next question without you reconnecting.
  • A connection signs itself out quietly after a while and the AI app renews it in the background. If it stops working, disconnect it and connect again.
  • Revoking an app here only removes that app. Any other connected app stays connected.
  • Scripts and Claude Code can use a personal token instead of the sign-in step. This is under "Advanced: connect with a token instead" on the same page. Most people do not need it. Delete a token from that list to stop it working.
